“If on one night every year, you could commit any crime without facing consequences, what would you do? In an America wracked by crime and overcrowded prisons, the government has sanctioned an annual 12-hour period in which any and all criminal activity—including murder—becomes legal. The police can’t be called. Hospitals suspend help.”
I think the premise of The Purge is something I think a lot of people secretly would want to happen and, for the sake of argument, some would definitely enjoy. People love anarchy – something that upsets the foundation of what they feel is normal. After all why else do you think otherwise normal, sane people become immersed in shows like Basketball Wives, The Real Housewives and the slew of other bullshit shows out there that are literally just a bunch of uneducated rich women with nothing better to do than yell and scream their heads off non-stop?
I think the basis of The Purge will touch on that for a lot of people – now whether they admit it or not is a different story. But I think this is a great plot for a movie and one I will definitely be seeing. I just want to know how and why I just found out about it. I despise going to the movie theaters, but I will definitely be going to see this movie right when it comes out. Check out their Facebook page as well by [CLICKING HERE].
